Christmas has changed now that my sisters and I are adults. My family's replaced the madcap PRESENTS SANTA OMFG bachanal of childhood with a far more thoughtful and pleasant experience. We slowly exchange gifts one at a time, oohing and ahhing over each item and set the opened gift aside with care. There are less presents, but I think they mean more now, as we sip mimosas and irish coffee and hug each other. There's still laughter and fun times (cue Cards Against Humanity), but it's a much more relaxing experience. I'm sure the crazy chaos will return in the next 5-10 years as we have children of our own, but for now, I'm thoroughly enjoying the slower pace.
